If you have an education benefit at your job, and your CEU trips were cancelled this Spring, ask your facilities if they will direct the funds instead for online opportunities (including the ASHA CEU package!) rather than leave education funds on the table.

    1. taking courses makes you a better audiologist. Who knows what ideas you'll be exposed to!
    2. you'll need hours for your license - get them now.
    3. many benefits are use-it-or-lose-it.
    4. leaving money on the table means it may not be there in the next budget.
    5. maintain your visibility to your facility.
    6. take other courses that are slightly outside your field but still applicable. Business, contact tracing (CT), management, leadership. They may not count for your license, but again, who knows where it might lead you? (Coursera.com has a free CT course from Johns Hopkins. ASHA has the Leadership Academy series for free through June 30.)
    7. watch a course with someone from another department (PT, Psych) and get their take on what you do. Ask if they have one that mentions audiology.
    8. Audiology CEUs are in YOUR name. If you change jobs, you'll still have them.

As we say in Las Vegas, "you can't win if you don't play."
