Anyone have any great ideas or resources for drafting a CFY manual?

    Hi Cheryl,
I have developed my own over the years, and would be happy to share with you. It’s comprehensive and covers everything you’d need to have on hand as a CF Mentor.

    Hi!
Quite a few of you have messaged me and posted on the site, requesting my CF handbook.
I will post those components that I include as links so that you may access them directly. Of course, I provide them as hard copies for my CFs in a spiral notebook that has pockets in which to keep them handy. The notebook is for the CF to write questions as they come up so that they are ready for the next visit. It is also used for critical reflection assignments that I give during each visit, for discussion at the next visit.
In addition to those documents, I use an on-site observation log that includes date, time, location, checklist of areas observed and/or discussed, a space for notes and comments, and a signature line for both of us. We both keep copies of this.
I will post the links shortly.

Here are the links to documents that I share with my CFs, as needed:
    https://www.asha.org/Code-of-Ethics/
    https://www.asha.org/uploadedFiles/SLP-Certification-Handbook.pdf
    https://www.asha.org/certification/CFinformation/
    https://www.asha.org/certification/CFSupervisors/
    https://www.asha.org/uploadedFiles/CFSISLP.pdf

    https://www.asha.org/Practice/ethics/Responsibilities-of-Individuals-Who-Mentor-Clinical-Fellows-in-Speech-Language-Pathology/

Please note that the CFSI and Report and Rating Form will be on-line in early 2019, so the above links for those forms will be phased out. In addition, I have provided the link for the 2020 standards so that you are sure to be incompliance with those requirements.

I hope this helps, and thank you for all you do for our new professionals!
    Melanie
PS One final note, that CFY is no longer the correct term, as you will only see "CF" in the links provided.
