Here's to Annie Glenn! I am proud that she was such a part of ASHA.

Wayne (and ASHA Leadership Academy Members)

Thank you so much for this posting.  While my heart is sad, I feel so fortunate to have heard Mrs. Annie Glenn speak many times at ASHA conventions.  Today I was listening to NPR and during the "top of the hour" news report, Mrs. Glenn's death was mentioned.  I was so proud that the story featured her talking about her own struggle with dysfluency AND ASHA was mentioned for having an award in her name.

She will be dearly missed BUT what a legacy she leaves us with as we all continue to work on behalf of individuals who have speech, language, hearing, swallowing and balance disorders.

Annie had courage and faith. She inspired me to be better. I was privileged to have met her on several occasions and to have her encouragement as I told her the stories of my patients.

I'm enjoying reading everyone's personal experiences with Annie Glenn.  Does anyone have a link to a list of The Annie recipients? I've found it in the past but cannot seem to locate it now.
    Thank you,

Mandy – I reached out to ASHA's Director of Convention and Meetings, Ellen Shortill, about the list of recipients of the Annie award.  She reminded me that it is published every year in the Awards Booklet at the ASHA Convention.  And she shared the list with me so that I could share it here.   I am so glad that you asked about this because it was fun to look through the list, in light of Annie's passing, and see all of the wonderful folks that ASHA has recognized in her honor.

I also feel honored to have met Annie and John.  Annie's passing is a real loss.  She and her wonderful smile will be missed.
