What is "Strategic Doing", and Does Your Organization Do It?

Recently I've been reading about "Strategic Doing." SD is a current concept for organizational strategy that advises working collaboratively with others to respond in rapidly changing environments using short-term action plans. The focus of SD is on what to do next about immediate challenges and opportunities. The actions taken rely on currently available assets and resources. While I was reading about SD, it occurred to me that most strategic planning efforts in smaller speech-language-hearing organizations (for example state associations and even smaller academic training programs) I've been involved with as a leader have used this kind of strategic planning. This is usually because the resources of time and money are in short supply and people are asking for immediate help with emerging issues. Who knew we were ahead of our time?!  How have you and/or leaders in organizations you're involved with responded collaboratively and quickly to a challenge or opportunity?
