Ethical Leadership and Civility

Summary

Ethical leadership, anchored in transformational leadership theory, forms the basis for civility in the workplace. Embodying ethical leadership, ASHA’s focus on communication has resulted in research on declining civility nationally and its implications for members. This growing awareness has prompted ASHA to develop a suite of tools and resources for building and sustaining civility in the communication sciences and disorders (CSD) professions. In this 1-hour webinar, participants will explore ethical leadership, leadership purpose, and identify ways to practice civility behaviors in their professional roles.

Learner Outcomes

  • Assess their career history to identify core elements of their leadership platform
  • Articulate their unique leadership purpose
  • Translate ASHA civility principles into their professional behavior as leaders
